Hervé Léger by Max Azria Barbie® Doll is the last Barbie Collector doll available in Mattel Shop. 

Designed by Linda Kyaw, the doll wraps herself in chic couture fashions constructed out of authentic Hervé Léger by Max Azria bandages and yarns, and  manufactured at the same factory that produces the full designer collection.

Magnificently created to capture every detail of her unique beauty, the face sculpt was reviewed and approved by Miss Taylor herself. White Diamonds is the name of the Taylor's perfume, created in 1991. Part of the proceeds will go to AIDS patients.

Inside the Barbie Collector Factory

Designing and manufacturing the world's most famous doll is not simple. From design sketch to production, it takes more than 100 people -fashion designers, makeup artisrs and elite couturiers- to create a single Barbie Collector doll.

Diseñar y crear a la muñeca más famosa del mundo no es fácil. Desde el diseño del boceto hasta la producción, en el proceso intervienen más de 100 personas -diseñadores de moda, maquilladores y costureros- para crear una sola muñeca Barbie Collector. 

Creating the Look / Creando el look

Artis use tiny sable brushes to achieve just the right face desing. Hair color is then selected from over 100 different shades and can be woven together for highlights of lowlights.

Los artistas usan diminutos pinceles para crear la cara correcta. El color del pelo es seleccionado entre más de 100 tonalidades diferentes y puede tejer junto con tonalidades más fuertes y claras. 

Sewn to Perfection / Cosiendo la perfección

Once a fashion sketch is approved, designers bring it to life with a prototype using muslin fabric on a Barbie-sized mannequin (about 11 1/2 inches in size).

Una vez se aprueba el boceto, los diseñadores pasan a coserlo usando un maniquí de tamaño Barbie (alrededor de 30 centímetros de tamaño).

The Final Touch / El toque final 

Accessories are sketched specifically for each doll and sculpted in wax to create 3D models. The final piece doll by hand to finish the fabulous look. 

Los accesorios son diseñados específicamente para cada muñeca y esculpidos en cera para crear modelos en 3D.  La pieza final de la muñeca se coloca en la mano para terminar con un look fabuloso.
